2014 Abendmusik Music Workshop: music that inspires

Gather with us on February 28 and March 1 for the fourth annual Abendmusik Music Workshop with inspirational educational offerings for conductors, organists, church musicians, and singers of all ages, including a Children's Choir Festival led by the American Boychoir School's Fred Meads, and a Youth Choir Festival conducted by Atlanta's Karol Kimmell. Other clinicians include Kansas City Chorale's conductor Charles Bruffy, Sonos Handbell Choir's conductor James Meredith, Boston University's Peter Sykes, church music author and historian Paul Westermeyer, Abendmusik's own Jeremy Bankson and Tom Trenney, and others. Weekend performances include a concert by the grammy-award-winning Kansas City Chorale and a unique and spectacular performance by the Sonos Handbell Ensemble.

2014 Abendmusik Handbell Choir Festival: music that inspires

Handbell Ringers from the region are invited to gather on Saturday, March 1 for the second annual Abendmusik Handbell Choir Festival. We welcome special guest conductor James Meredith, nationally-recognized conductor of the Sonos Handbell Ensemble as our guest clinician. In addition to the Mass Choir rehearsals led by Mr. Meredith, Break-out sessions will be offered by members of the Sonos Handbell Ensemble. The mass choir will present a mini concert that afternoon of the mass choir pieces and then you are invited to attend the evening concert featuring the Sonos Handbell Ensemble. 

2014 Abendmusik Children's Choir Festival: music that inspires

Children's choirs (grades 3 through 5) from the region are invited to gather in Lincoln's First-Plymouth Church on Saturday, March 1 for the fourth annual Abendmusik Children's Choir Festival. We welcome special guest conductor Fred Meads, celebrated educator and conductor from the American Boychoir School, to guide our young singers. The children will learn four pieces with their home choirs in advance of our festival day, then the singers assemble on Festival Day to rehearse with Mr. Meads, culminating in a midday concert.

2014 Abendmusik Youth Choir Festival: music that inspires

Youth choirs (grades 6 through 12) from the region are invited to gather in Lincoln's First-Plymouth Church on Saturday, March 1 for the second annual Abendmusik Youth Choir Festival. We welcome special guest conductor Karol Kimmell, nationally-known children and youth choir expert and clinician. The youth will prepare the festival repertoire with their home choirs in advance of our festival day, then the singers assemble on Festival Day to rehearse with Ms. Kimmell, culminating in a midday concert.
