ABENDCHOR to make its world premiere performance as Lincoln's new professional chamber choir

ABENDCHOR is a company of twenty-five choral artists from Nebraska, Michigan, Texas, and New York, who gather for the first time ever September 5-12 in Nebraska as Lincoln's new professional chamber choir. This dynamic new ensemble will make its debut at the Nebraska State Capitol, on the Abendmusik: Lincoln Concert Series, and at St. Cecilia Cathedral in Omaha, during its first week in residence in Lincoln. The voices of ABENDCHOR will come together for intensive week-long musical adventures in Lincoln three times this season, guided by co-directors Therees Hibbard and Tom Trenney. A new outreach initiative of Abendmusik: Lincoln, ABENDCHOR gives musicians and audiences another opportunity to gather to experience excellence in the performing arts. In its first peformances of its debut season, ABENDCHOR will sing music from the All Night Vigil by Sergei Rachmaninoff alongside beautiful works inspired by evening by Eric Whitacre, Johannes Brahms, Morten Lauridsen, Carmen Cavallaro (a Nebraska premiere), Zotlan Kodaly, and Billy Joel.
